Boonah Chamber of Commerce

The Boonah Shire Chamber of Commerce was established in 1995. The business owners and Council were keen to move on encouraging industry into the area and to see the development of the main street of Boonah.

Since its inauguration, Chamber has formed a number of subcommittees which have been actively engaged in fund or awareness raising for specific purposes. In 1999, Chamber took up a partnership with the Council to produce "Heartbeat" and contributed to its success until 2007 when Council felt  that they would like to implement sole management of the publication. Chamber newsletters took on a new format with the uptake of e-mail to facilitate communication.

Supporters such as the Department of State Development, IRACC (Small Business Field Officers-Ausindustry) and the Shire Council contribute to the offerings of the Chamber in many ways to enable training opportunities on the doorstep.

Chamber has over the years since its inception been keenly supportive of cultural development, tourism, economic development and employment/education  assistance programs and continues to be involved in making contribution to the overall direction of the area.
